In Germany, there’s a saying: a picture is worth more than a thousands words. But this time, we need to talk. Because, when I saw the pictures of the BMW i8 Frozen Yellow Edition first in the press club, I thought: well …
On the first pictures, the yellow was just a bit too colorful, don’t you think so, too?
But well, seems like BMW did a bad job with photo editing there.
Because when BMW shows the car in real at the Shanghai Auto, the Frozen Yellow just looked stunning!
The exclusive exterior shade has a silky shimmer; it looks more like a golden dress than a simple yellow paint job.
The special-edition, that will go into production in September, will sport newly designed 20-inch BMW i light-alloy wheels in W-Spoke design with matt-painted surfaces and mixed-size tyres.
Inside the car, contrast stitching in Yellow for the seat surfaces and centre console underlines the sporty and extravagant looks that dominate the cockpit design of the BMW i8. Yellow contrast stitching can also be found in the side panel trim and door cards, on the floor mats and in the lower section of the instrument panel.
An anthracite-coloured headliner, grey seat belt straps, ceramic applications for the selector lever and iDrive Controller, and door sill strips with “Edition” inscriptions add the finishing touches to the exclusive interior ambience of the special-edition models.
The real-life pictures here will do just a better job to tell, how stunning the car is … and of course, China will love it, since there’s a small obsession with gold here.
